Congratulations Stephen ‘Obie’ O’Byrne on 200 sensational games!!
Before the mighty Warriors, Obie played for the Ferntree Gully Eagles, Upper Gully and the Sandown Cobras. It was with the Cobras that he played most of his senior career, winning 3 x BnF’s over a 150 game stint.
With that many games based out of Edinburgh Reserve, it was only natural that Obie would continue to dominate on the same ground for the Warriors.
He played his 150th game alongside fellow Warrior (Cobra at the time) Killer, who also celebrated his 150th in the same game. Our mate Kimmy also played his 150th at the Cobras that year in the same team.
We are lucky to have Obie at our club not only as a player, but as a top shelf person. Like lil Pete, these are the guys you want to run out on the ground alongside. Hopefully, we are singing the Warrior’s song together in the near future!
