Announcing the Warriors 2025 coaching panel

2025 Coaches Locked In
The Warriors coaching group for season 2025 is now final, after an exhaustive global search led by an independent panel with over 2000 combined AFL games experience. The elite coaches who have been selected beat out the likes of Daisy Pearce, Damian Hardwick and Chris Scott who wanted the job but just did not meet the stringent standards expected of Warriors coaches.
Congratulations to Sue Emery, reigning AFL Masters Women’s Coach of the Year, who is backing up a season of growth and development in 2024 to once again coach the Eastern Warriors Women’s Non-Contact Team.
Also backing up is Lou Saunders, who once again will coach the Over 35s after a stellar season 2024 where a long winless streak was broken, the team was competitive all season and scored two wins.
Congrats to Eddie Ralph who will be coaching the Over 50s in season 2025, and to Chris ‘Magoo’ Riley who will be coach of the inaugural Easter Warriors Over 55s stand-alone team.
To every member, the coaches need you to get down to training and declare your intentions for season 2025 – we hope to see you there, numbers have been good, conditions great and there are plenty of new drills and ideas emerging from the new coaching panel.

R U OK?
With some recent tragedies in the news re: AFL players, Junior provided a timely reminder at training last night of the importance of checking in with your family and friends who may be struggling mentally, and for yourself, talking with mates and loved ones if you’re feeling down. One of the greatest places in the world for this is your footy club – there’ll be no judgment, just pure support and if any of you ever need a friend to talk to in confidence, your Warriors brothers and sisters are there for you. You’re never on your own.
